SUSTAINABLE BRAND INDEX™ B2B 2017

In 2017, we conducted Sustainable Brand Index™ B2B in Sweden for the first time. The study shows how Swedish decision-makers view sustainability and how Sweden’s largest B2B-brands are perceived from a sustainability perspective. Conducting a research among decision-makers of large companies is definitely more challenging than among consumers. However, it is such an important target group with decisive influence on sustainability in the future that we felt we had to take the challenge.

The construction industry performed very well in 2017. In fact, 4 out of 10 construction brands are in the top 10 of Sustainable Brand Index™ B2B (i.e. Skanska, NCC, JM and PEAB).

There are plenty of reasons why the construction industry is well-perceived amongst decision-makers when it comes to sustainability. For example, many actors have emphasised their role as community builders which is tangible for decision-makers.

The construction industry also benefits from a strong political and business focus on smart cities, plus a lot of industry-specific third party sustainability certifications (e.g. the BREEM-certification).
